Back to the past at the castle of Apremont<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

For this experience we propose a true return to the past<\/strong>. By car, take the direction towards Apremont. This small Vend\u00e9e town has a rich historical heritage. You will notice it from afar when you approach the town ; the famous castle of Apremont<\/strong>. This edifice, of which only a few ruins and two towers remain, was built on a rocky point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The “vault cavalier” is a unique passage in France of 20 meters, located under the castle.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

In high season, the town proposes various shows<\/strong> in the castle’s courtyard, allowing for an entertaining glimpse at the daily life of the time.
Guided tours are proposed. They allow you to visit places that are otherwise inaccessible, such as the East Tower.<\/p>\n<\/div>

A little history:<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

This Renaissance castle was built between 1534 and 1542 (hence the traces of an ancient medieval fortress), under the orders of Philippe Chabot de Brion, admiral of France and childhood friend of Fran\u00e7ois I. In 1922 Louis XIII stayed there for some time. It is one of the first Renaissance castles in the Vend\u00e9e.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A permanent exhibition on show in the Chapel. It recounts the history of this castle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Picnic on the banks of “La Vie”<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

After enriching your knowledge of French history, a break is well deserved! Leave your car behind and walk towards the banks of “La Vie”, only 700 meters from the Apremont Castle. This 62 kilometer river spans the department of the Vend\u00e9e before flowing into the Atlantic Ocean.
On the way, the bakery “La Mie des Saveurs” and its selection of pastries will catch your eye (it seems that their Paris-Brest are famous)<\/em>. Choose a little something to sweeten up your lunchtime picnic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The picnic area at Apremont Beach is an invitation to contemplation. Sit at one of the 27 picnic tables set up under the shade of the trees and enjoy the breathtaking view of the lake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What could be more soothing than the banks of the river and the gentle sounds of the water for a picnic?
You can take a nap under the trees or opt for a more challenging activity: wakeboarding.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

After a morning of discovery, time to relax… or not…<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The lake of Apremont offers many possibilities. Between nap<\/strong> by the lake, fishing<\/strong> and water activities<\/strong>, there is something for everyone.
In high season, the days can be very hot in the Vend\u00e9e. There is nothing like a swim<\/strong> in the cool waters of the lake to relax. At the recreational area of the lake there is a small beach with fine sand where swimming is allowed. It is almost as if you were on a seaside beach on the Vend\u00e9e coast. Here, you can enjoy a safe swim with no swells and the swimming is supervised.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From April to October, you can take advantage of the various facilities at the base. KS Water Park offers different types of leisure activities that thrill-seekers will love!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Test the wake board<\/strong>: thanks to their double pulley water ski lift, it is an easy way to learn the sport.
Enjoy the aquapark<\/strong>: fun times are guaranteed on the floating inflatables.
Challenge your friends to a KS Paddle Polo<\/strong> game: stand on boards and pass the ball to score as many goals as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For those who prefer more traditional activities, it is possible to rent a canoe<\/strong>, a paddle<\/strong>, a pedal boat <\/strong>or an electric boat<\/strong>.
