Eco-friendly practices at the campsite

Even though holidays are synonymous with freedom, they must also be synonymous with sustainability.

The campsite has been committed to eco-responsibility and operating in an environmentally friendly manner for several years now. We do everything we can to preserve nature, from small everyday actions to major renovation projects.

What does it mean in practice?

photovoltaic panels

LED light bulbs: All buildings are equipped with LED light bulbs. Thanks to their long life and low power consumption, using them drastically reduces waste production and electricity consumption.

Key-operated switches : In some of our cottages, an electrical box allows you to activate the lights with the cottage’s key. This means you won’t have to check that all the lights are off before going out.

Smart heaters: Did you leave the door open and forget to turn off the heating? In our new accomodations, it switches off automatically.

A water regulator: Most of our taps in our sanitary facilities and rental units are equipped with a water saver to avoid over-consumption.

Reusing plant waste: And yes… because our flower beds are also eco-friendly. When pruning trees and hedges, we collect the clippings and turn them into wood chips or compost.

Photovoltaic panels: At the far end of the campsite, a storage shed has been built with photovoltaic panels covering its entire surface. This helps to mitigate the effects of rising electricity prices and overproduction by power plants.

Service in washable containers: Order your meal at the snack bar and collect it in your own eco-friendly container. It’s thanks to these everyday gestures that we can reduce our waste.

A water fountain: With zero waste in mind, the campsite has installed a water fountain. No need to buy plastic bottles, just fill your flask with fresh, filtered water directly from our fountain.

A donation box: Do you have items you no longer use? Don’t throw them away, donate them! They could be useful to someone else.

Cycle paths: The campsite is directly across from a cycle path that will take you to the centre of Les Sables d’Olonne. Leave your car behind for the duration of your stay and enjoy the many cycle paths that the Vendée has to offer.

Practical information

For a number of years now, the team has been taking steps to avoid throwing away items they no longer need. As a result, cutlery, pots and pans and other utensils are donated to various associations such as the Red Cross and Restos du Coeur. Meanwhile, blankets and comforters are donated to an animal shelter for our 4-legged friends.
